Great location, friendly staff, value for money & clean. I booked a room with a sea view and it was amazing. The bus station is a few minutes walk and is the best, easiest, quickest and cheapest way to travel to various towns and costs €2 per ride. Anesis is around 5-8 mins walk away from Fira town which has so many places to eat, lots of bars, shops and taverns. It is very expensive to eat and drink but if you look around, you can get some good food and drinks down side streets and least populated parts of Fira. There’s so much to do and we chose to go on a sunset tour via various locations, a boat trip to see the volcano and Thirasia island. Most of these can be booked via Anesis at the reception. There are 3 ways to get down to Fira port which has about 500-600 steps; walking, donkey ride or take the cable cart. Just be aware that there are lots of donkeys travelling on the steps and the cobbles can be slippery, so make sure good footwear is worn & in general everywhere you walk has cobbles and lots of hills. The owners of Anesis are so lovely and always made time to greet us when they were around. We trekked to Oia from our hotel and got the bus back. Dimitris, the owner saw how tired we looked and invited us to the reception area and gave us a cold bottle of beer, which made us feel at home. Later his wife, gave us a small painted stone as gift. The reception staff are also very helpful with guiding what trips suited us & our budget. We will definitely be returning to stay here in the future if we ever visit Santorini again.

Hidden gem of a hotel. It’s family run and everyone is so friendly, thoughtful and kind. I was by the pool a couple of times and experienced so much kindness including being brought out a bottle of water, towels and even the lady owner sent out a beautiful hand painted pebble she made (she’s so talented). The room was very quiet and the attention to detail on cleanliness was better than a 5 star hotel, not only cleaned but tidied for comfort. The cleaner also waits to see you’ve left your room so after a late night for a wedding I was able to sleep in without thinking I might get woken up, I knew I could relax. The location is ideal, next to the bus terminal, and 5-10 minutes from all the main restaurants. All the taxis and trips were able to easily pick me up there. Breakfast is generous if you choose to have it. I had the pool almost always to myself, it’s clean and a comfortable temperature. As a woman solo traveller it was ideal for a quiet, safe and comfortable stay. I’ve travelled a lot of the world and stayed in everything from 5 star hotels to home stays and this hotel rates amongst the top - comfortable, clean, very quiet and proper Greek hospitality.

Our stay at Hotel Anessis was absolutely wonderful! The flat was spotless upon our arrival and cleaned daily. The hotel's location was fantastic, within easy walking distance of Thira town, buses, local shops, and bakeries. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. I would definitely love to stay here again; it offered excellent value for money, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. During our stay, we initially stayed for three days and then ferry-hopped to Ios. However, we had to return to Santorini earlier than expected due to a ferry cancellation caused by strikes. The Anessis staff showed incredible compassion and generosity. They allowed us to leave our bags in the reception area and relax by the pool free of charge on the day of our flight home where we had nowhere to go or stay all day with our cases. They refused to accept any payment for this kind gesture. The staff at Hotel Anessis truly made us feel like family during our stay and would recommend staying here to anyone.

Exceptionally clean, serviced daily. Staff friendly and helpful. Great communication. Kindly allowed early check in. Day we left we stayed by the lovely pool also, which had enough beds for every occupant and was good depth. Air con excellent and essential. Rain showerhead lovely. Fridge in room very handy. Carparking at the front door and free - hard to find this in fira. Location was outside of main Fira area, so quieter and calmer which was good for us. Five mins walk from public bus (€2 each from airport) and the local supermarket. No sunset views from this side of Fira, but sunrise views. Only about 10 mins walk to top of caldera. We were there in peak season and it was booked out but always spaces at pool and never noisy. Was a great place to stay and would stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay! From day one until the very end, Dimitri and the entire staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room was spotless, with fresh towels provided daily. The hotel's location is fantastic—just a five-minute walk from the island’s central bus station and only ten minutes from the main streets of Fira. The pool, though small, was always clean and peaceful. One afternoon, we were even surprised with complimentary coffee by the pool, personally brought to us by the host! To top it all off, we were delighted to find a thoughtful Greek gift box waiting in our room at the end of our stay. I can honestly say this was the best hotel experience and service I’ve had—not just in Greece, but anywhere!
